HIPZ Cycle Zanzibar 2027
4–13 June 2027 | Six days cycling across Unguja
See Zanzibar from the saddle and help improve healthcare across the islands. On the HIPZ Cycle 2027, you’ll ride approximately 260–300 km through villages and along the coast, with planned visits to hospitals supported by HIPZ. You’ll meet some of the teams behind the work your fundraising helps support.
This is a moderate challenge that calls for training, but you won’t take it on alone. Our event partner Action Challenge will provide cycling guides, a medic, support vehicles and local logistical support throughout the ride.
The Challenge
Starting in Stone Town, the route takes you south to Kizimkazi, across to the east coast and north towards Matemwe, before returning via Mangapwani and finishing in Fumba. Along the way, you’ll see more of Unguja and have opportunities to visit HIPZ-supported health facilities, including Makunduchi and Kivunge hospitals.
We’ll mark the finish with a celebration. If you’d like to stay longer, an optional visit to Pemba can also be planned.
Costs and Fundraising
- Deposit: £395
- Final balance: £2,895–£3,095, depending on flight costs, due by 12 March 2027
- Total trip cost: £3,290–£3,490, including the deposit
- Minimum fundraising for HIPZ: £1,500, separate from the trip cost
