Dr Asya Al-Kharusi
Asya was born in Zanzibar, studied medicine in Egypt and has practiced medicine all over the Middle East and UK, taking up multiple senior paediatric roles throughout her career, including positions with the WHO and in Alderhay Children’s Hospital and at the Royal Hyatt Hospital in Kuwait.Feroz Jafferji
Feroz is originally from Zanzibar and moved to the UK in 1964. He trained as a dentist in the UK and has been volunteering with HIPZ providing support to dental clinics in both hospitals since 2015.Richard Hills
Richard is our volunteer accountant. Richard’s son volunteered in Zanzibar with HIPZ and bought Richard on board to support our finance work. He has been with us since 2016 and he manages all our UK finances, donating hours of his time every month to make our work possible.Eunice Pullen
Eunice is orginally from Tanzania and left for the UK in the late 1990s and then trained as a nurse and qualified in 2006 in Brighton. She has been volunteering with HIPZ since 2017 when she relocated to Zanzibar to share her nursing knowledge with her own country.Benedetta is a nurse from Italy and she supports our maternity and paediatric clinics in both Kivunge and Makunduchi Hospitals
